Ranch Dill Dip

I have a theory that says that dip was invented so that kids would eat their vegetables.  I actually do not know when the first dip was invented, but it did create a tasty way to eat raw vegetables, which is the healthiest way to eat them.

If you make your own dip from your own ingredients, you can make the dips a little more healthy than the store bought.  It will also have more flavor since the ingredients are fresh.

Here is a recipe for a ranch dill dip.  If you love the taste of dill, you will love this one.  It is best to let the ingredients sit for a few hours so the flavors can meld before serving.  I usually let it go overnight.

Ingredients
  1. 16 oz. low fat sour cream (you can sub fat free plain greek yogurt)
  2. 1 cup reduced fat mayo
  3. 1/2 tsp salt
  4. 1/2 tsp pepper
  5. 4 tsp lemon juice
  6. 4 tsp dijon mustard
  7. 3 tsp onion powder
  8. 2 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  9. large handful of fresh dill chopped
Whisk together the sour cream and mayo in a bowl.  Then add in the rest of the ingredients.

Serve with raw vegetables or chips.
